Grow Your Processes

Effective processes are the keys to growing any business and moving it forward. A business without a process is like a ship without an engine. It will stay afloat but will be forced to follow the tides and ocean currents to wherever they decide to take it. In small businesses this phenomenon is way more common that it should be. People get so focused on keeping the business afloat they forget that in order to get to port the engine needs to be running.

Processes deal with every aspect of a business, from marketing to sales, accounting and inventory, to HR and development. In the long-term, a lack of processes eventually will be the straw that breaks the camel’s back. Without processes and structure you end up with something that eventually goes out of control.

During growth many processes are overlooked or simply never developed. As a result, every person will potentially approach the same task differently, completing it their own way. Most employees will not question the way things are done, and will happily continue to do it the way it’s always been done, even if it makes the process unprofitable. Properly designed processes provide a coherent and directed approach that enables consistency and strengthens the brand.

During this workshop we help you identify missing and inadequate processes, question how and why things are done, and get your people involved - all of which will improve your profitability.
Some key elements you will learn:
1. Identifying problem areas within your business
2. When to look at a process
3. Why and how to question a process
4. How to develop a new process
5. Understanding the human process
6. Getting your people more hands on and involved
7. Measuring results from changes

The process of growing a business involves putting appropriate procedures into place. If your business is functioning but not profitable, putting new processes in place may help increase profitability. Increasing your bottom line is not always about selling, doing or working more. Sometimes it is about working smarter, quicker and more efficiently. That is exactly what putting a process in place can do.
